Electrifying Twisted Dimensions! Nox’s Second Place Wolfey Sub Server Tournament squad!

Hi, My name is Nox! I’m a longtime Pokémon fan but I’m somewhat new to VGC. I previously played Smogon singles and swapped over to VGC in January. Since then, I’ve been experimenting with a ton of fun strats! I’m active in Wolfe Glick’s subscriber Discord server, and probably my most famous team was one involving Slurpuff and Indeedee-M that Max Gelman used to make Top 16 in the recent online Champions Cup.

Wolfe’s Sub Server  recently had our first friendly tournament (we plan to host them biweekly, so maybe join?). After a not-so-great time in the Victory Road Tournament last week, I was able to top cut (going 4-2 in swiss) and eventually made it to the finals before finally losing. Anyways, I’m really happy with this team and so I wanted to share it with some of you!

A Bolt from the Prehistoric Past – Malmö VGC 2020 Regional Championship Team Report

This past weekend I travelled to Malmö via Copenhagen to participate in Malmö’s Regional Championship event for the third time in four years; accompanied by Ayleigh & Helen, I was able to couple this up as a week’s holiday to explore both of these beautiful cities before focusing on the tournament ahead.

With the recent changes to the VGC ruleset, legalising new Pokémon such as Incineroar and Venusaur, I was left unsure of what sort of team I would be bringing to the event and it wouldn’t be until the Wednesday before the tournament that my decision would finally be made.

Top 32 at Birmingham Regionals 2017!

I haven’t done one of these in ages – mainly because I’ve not had a team (or tournament finish) worth talking about; I was tempted to pen one after finishing top 16 in Malmo’s Mid Season Showdown, but I was using Gavin Michaels’ Trick Room team so we already know enough about that!

Having used Trick Room, and later Trick Room plus Lilligant Torkoal, for the majority of the season, collecting less than a handful of decent finishes, I decided it was time to trial something different. I adored Lilligant Torkoal, but a string of games (including a terrible 4-3 run at the Milan Open) where I seemed to miss a vast amount of my inaccurate moves prompted me to set this duo aside; looking through my PC box, I found a Gyarados (which I’d used at Europe’s International Championship) sat next to an innocent looking ‘Pikachu clone’…
